Join x3 evenings of yoga classes to learn about strength in yoga.
Tuesday 8th January - Thursday 10th January
6:30pm - 8:00pm each evening
Teachings are based in the Iyengar method of yoga and will be foundational and progressive in building strength through awareness of alignment in your yoga postures. These classes are suitable for people who are looking to compliment their strength training program, wishing to learn how yoga can bring tone and strength in to their every day life, or looking for some exciting new forms, moves and challenges for their body and mind.
No matter what age you are, you need to be strong. Strength training brings benefits to your bones, muscles and cardio-vascular system. Yoga can actually be a very important part of your training. In combination with weightlifting methods, yoga is an additional way to increase endurance and strength, improve complete body posture, and achieve balance and flexibility. It helps maximize physical performance, while the meditative side of yoga contributes to your inner stability and mental balance.
"Physical activity or exercise can improve your health and reduce the risk of developing several diseases like type 2 diabetes, cancer and cardiovascular disease. Physical activity and exercise can have immediate and long-term health benefits. Most importantly, regular activity can improve your quality of life. A minimum of 30 minutes a day can allow you to enjoy these benefits.”

Facilitated by Nicola Semmens
Nicola has recently completed 500 hours of Iyengar teacher training with Darrin McNally at the Kensington School of Yoga. Nicola came to yoga in her 20’s with a background in competition gymnastics and discovered that yoga provided her with new tools to explore the physical capacities of the body. As a young yoga student Nicola found yoga was much more than just a physical practice and was inspired by the sense of calmness and mental clarity she experienced after each class.
Along her journey Nicola has found that the practice of yoga can also be a little confronting and sometimes sheds light on all of our perceived physical limitations but, in the end, yoga provides us with the mental and physical tools to help work towards overcoming some of these problems.
Bookings are encouraged for the full workshop, but single class attendance is possible.
